Best Golf Instructional Videos to perfect your Game
So you want to get started in this great game of golf. I can't say I blame you I've been more or less addicted to the game for several years, and the more I learn the more I love it. Of course it hasn't always been this way. Thinking back to when I first started with a set of beginner golf clubs I had some very frustrating times. Matter of fact, while I didn't enroll for a beginner golf lesson at the time I certainly wish I would have, it would have saved me a lot of time and pain on the course.
This article will cover the basics for beginner golf lessons and starters how ever keep in mind we cannot cover everything a beginner golfer needs to know in a single article. There are many quality publications available to help you out, we recommend the Golf Beginner Guide. This book is a 270 page resource for a bargain price it's well worth the read.
If you haven't yet bought your beginner golf set, take these points into consideration before you run out to your local golf shop and break the bank. Different equipment is made with different skill sets in mind, while you might love to spend the money on that new shiny $400 driver, it's not the ideal golf club for beginner. Save your money and purchase a half beginner golf club set. This will save you a lot of money compared to buying the latest and greatest gear, and will give you every club you'll need to get started. Most half beginner golf sets will include the odd numbered irons, a wedge, putter, and one or two woods. Save the money for now and don't purchase a driver, it's one of the toughest clubs in the bag to hit and there's no sense causing more frustration then needed when starting out.
Before you ever set foot on a golf course make sure your first trip is to the driving range. There is likely the best beginner golf tip I can give you, other then be patient and take your time learning the technique of the game. At the driving range you can get a feel for your new clubs, and how comfortable you are swinging them. Starting out right on the golf course will cause you a lot of frustration because the ball won't be going where you want it to go, and you'll be holding up the more experienced golfers that are on the course.
Along with familiarizing yourself with your clubs, there is something else you can do at most local driving ranges and golf courses. Register for beginner golf lessons. As you swing away at the driving range you'll soon realize the one thing that never changes amongst golfers. Everyone is an expert. Almost everybody around you can tell you what you're doing wrong in your swing, how to fix that slice and keep your head down. The fact is many of these golfers providing instruction to you aren't much better themselves. It's important that you learn correct golf swing technique from a qualified professional. You can call or drop into most courses and practice facilities and they will have a pro on staff that will do private and group beginner lessons.
Cost can be from $30 - $50 per 30-60 minute session. If you're on a budget you can look into group lessons, as well as consider some golf instructional videos to supplement your lessons and/or reinforce what you learn. Myself I received the biggest benefit from a beginner golf lesson DVD I purchased that provided me with the step-by-step instruction I needed to be able to swing consistently.
Along with the beginner golf guide we recommended above there are some great beginner golf lessons available online and in video format.
